Block Party, parade, fireworks for 4th

The schedule is a full one for the city of Carrington's Fourth of July celebration on Tuesday.

Headlocks Bar is sponsoring the "9th Avenue Block Party", starting at 1 p.m. with beer gardens and games. Pulled pork and all the fixings will be served for a freewill offering from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. or until gone. Proceeds from the event will go to the CHS French Club.

The annual Independence Day Parade will start at 5 p.m., with this year's theme, "Rockin' the U.S.A." There are no entry fees, and all are welcome to participate in the parade. Winners will receive Carrington Cash prizes.

Line up will start at 4 p.m. at the Foster County Fairgrounds, and the parade route will travel down Main St. and continue on Poplar Ave. and 3rd St. S. For more information, call the Chamber office at 652-2524 or e-mail [email protected].

Fireworks will be held at the Fairgrounds at dusk.
