The Foster County Commission learned at their meeting last week that Dianne Hertel, county treasurer has resigned her position.
Hertel has been with the treasurer’s office since 2013, winning the election for that office in 2014.
During the meeting, held on Tuesday, July 18, auditor Ellen Roundy told the board that she and her deputy could take over the duties temporarily while they evaluate their options.
The board also learned that two other county staff members have resigned their positions: ambulance manager Amy Andel and sheriff’s deputy Nick Oster. In other business:
• The board discussed the timeline for the company installing the water pipeline to bore under Bordulac Highway.
Apparently the boring was to begin mid-July, but that time has come and gone.
Roundy will contact the company doing the boring and tell them the board wants the boring to be completed before harvest begins in August.
• The board discussed signs for the campground, but tabled that discussion for the time being.
• There was no report on building projects because the board is waiting to hear from EAPC Architects/Engineers.
