Foster County Commission approves new campground in Bordulac

“Section lines are never closed,” said Foster County State’s Attorney Kara Brinster to Lee Wahlund at the Foster County Commission meeting last week.

During the meeting Wahlund attended to request a section line be closed that runs to his property off of 66th Avenue.

He said the problem is the section line is located in the City of Carrington’s extraterrestrial property, which stretches one mile past the actual city limits.

Brinster told Wahlund that she needed more time to research the matter before she could offer her opinion.

In other business:

• The commission heard from sheriff Justin Johnson who attended the meeting to ask if he could purchase a used Dodge Charger from the Carrington Police Department for $12,000. He said it is equipped with all of the equipment that law enforcement uses and is priced below blue book.

A motion was approved to grant the request.

• The board discussed whether to purchase tablets or lap tops and whether to purchase Apple or another brand. The discussion was tabled for more information.

• The board heard from Foster County Tax Equalization Director Karen Evans who attended the meeting to discuss the proposed campground in Bordulac behind the Bordulac Bar.

She told the board that Dan Beckley, the owner of the property, had to get an inspection and follow instructions from the state.

The paperwork that Beckley presented to the board says he will have seven RV sites available.

A motion to approve the campground was passed.
