Rexin third at A&B Crossover meet

In her final year of varsity golf for the Carrington Cardinal girls, Kacie Rexin has shown she can compete with the best in the state.

Rexin was the only CHS golfer to compete in the prestigious A&B Crossover at Oxbow Country Club on August 21, and the senior proved she belonged in her lofty company.

Her score of three-over-par 75 finished only behind the defending Class A and Class B champions, Rose Solberg of Fargo Davies (70, -2) and Avery Bartels of Kindred (71, -1).

She and the rest of the Cardinals returned to the course for a Wednesday meet at Maple River Golf Club in Mapleton.

Rexin finished three shots behind Bartels to take second overall with an 18-hole card of 77. Teammate Molly Hansen tied for 17th on the leaderboard, shooting a 106. Other Cards at the meet included Aniston Hoornaert (107), Kenedy Trostad (129) and Laken Johnson (139).

CHS shot a team score of 419 to take fourth at Maple River, nine shots behind third-place finisher Central Cass. Oak Grove won the meet with a 346, buoyed by five shooters in the top 10. Kindred was second at 355.
