Thunder blanks Ellendale, South Border

M-P-B got back into the winner's circle following a mini two-match losing skid, taking three straight sets over the Ellendale Cardinals Thursday night, September 7, in Pingree, and getting off on the right foot in District 6 last Tuesday, September 12, with another three-set win against South Border.

Brynn Sorenson led three Thunder players in double figure kills with 17, followed by Maddie Gefroh's 11 and Allison Thomas's 10.

Violet Bohl had 29 assists, and Alaina Bosche found the opposite court for five aces in the win. Thomas finished with 20 digs for M-P-B in the sweep.

In District 6 play, the Thunder took down the Mustangs, 25-19, 25-21 and 25-23.

Sorenson (14 kills), Gefroh (13) and Thomas (12) led the M-P-B attackers in the South Border match.

Now sporting a record of 7-3 pending the results of the Valley City Optimist Tournament, the Thunder will be back in action in Pingree Thursday against the Wilton-Wing Miners.
