For the first time this year, Carrington competed as a full varsity squad on both the girls' and boys' sides when they traveled to the seventh annual Devils Lake Grahams Island Invitational, held at the state park located between Devils Lake and Minnewaukan Saturday, September 16.
The Cardinal girls scored 127 points to finish in third place, while the boys were fifth at 213.
CHS competed without top girls' runner Kenadie Pazdernik, as she is also a member of the volleyball team which played at the Valley City Optimist Tournament, also held that Saturday. The top finisher at the meet was eighth grader Macy Fiebiger, who took 13th.
The NR-S Rockets also ran at Grahams Island, with all their contestants participating in the junior varsity divisions.
