Gloria Hoffman
Gloria Mae Hoffman, 71, of Bismarck, N.D., passed away September 4, 2023.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 2, 2023, at Bismarck Funeral Home. Family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at the Carrington Cemetery, Carrington, N.D., with the graveside prayers at the funeral home.
Gloria Mae Hoffman was born on May 9, 1952, in Fargo, N.D., to Albert Hoffman and Ella Elsie Schulz. She grew up in Robinson, N.D. She then moved to Grafton Developmental Center on August 11, 1982. During this time, she worked at various jobs doing janitorial and housekeeping jobs.
On August 25, 1994, she moved to Bismarck where she made her home. She worked with HIT (Housing Industry Training) for a while before transferring to Enable. Brief move to Grafton in 2000 and back to Bismarck in the same year. She lived in her own apartment until 2022, when she moved into a group home where she lived until she passed away. She has been with Catholic Charities since March 23, 1997.
Gloria loved her faith and was baptized into her Lutheran religion by the Chaplin at Enable at her home on April 19, 2016.
Gloria's favorite things were going for van rides, writing letters, and looking fabulous with all of her jewelry and sunglasses and making time to get her hair done. In her spare time she enjoyed watching westerns, and also looked forward to going out to eat with her staff. Gloria very much enjoyed being retired.
She is survived by numerous cousins and friends.
Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Ella Schulz.
