LaMoure/Litchville-Marion took a three-set District 5 victory by the count of 18-25, 13-25 and 22-25 over the Griggs/Midkota Titans Thursday night, October 12, in Cooperstown.
Sophomore Kelsey Johnson hit 10 kills for the Titans in defeat, and Vanessa Vollmer's 14 digs also led the team. Additionally notching double digits in the dig statistic were Ryan Johnson (12) and Kennedy Reidman (10).
Emma McCullough made 25 assists for G-M, and also was the top server with two aces.
Coupled with their three-set loss to Carrington (see related article), the Titans finished their district schedule with a record of 2-4, and will be the number five seed in the upcoming District 5 Tournament in Oakes.
The Titans were also in action last Tuesday night in Steele when they faced Kidder County, and were taken the full five-set distance in a 3-2 loss.
Highlights included Johnson's 17 kills and 40 digs, along with an eye-popping 58 assists from McCullough.
