Benefit for Sherman Friday night at Armory

The life-saving gift of two healthy lungs is now a reality for Carrington resident Carol Sherman, but the staggering financial reality of undergoing such a surgery is about to begin.

A benefit for Sherman will be held Friday night, November 3, at the Carrington Armory beginning at 5 p.m. with a Free Will Spaghetti Supper, Silent Auction and 50/50 Raffle.

Sherman, who is retired from CHI St. Alexius Health Carrington Medical Center after over 40 years of service in various areas of patient care, received a double lung transplant at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., on August 12.

All proceeds from the benefit will go towards Sherman's ongoing medical and travel expenses.

An account has been set up at Bank Forward in Carrington for those wishing to donate to Sherman. For more information or to donate silent auction items, contact Shelley Kollman at 658-0518 or Karen Munkeby at 652-5023.
