Shipman signs with VCSU

Grady Shipman, son of Wayne and Denise Shipman of Carrington, has signed a letter of intent to play baseball for the Valley City State University Vikings and Head Coach Alec DeMaria. Currently a senior at CHS, Shipman will follow in the footsteps of his older brother, Jayden, who also played for the Vikings.

Grady was an All-State player this past spring during the high school season and a three-time All-Region 3 selection. The left-handed swinging pitcher, shortstop and catcher hit .533 with four home runs and 17 stolen bases. On the mound he threw 31.2 innings, posting a 5-1 record with a 2.87 ERA and 65 strikeouts with only nine walks.
