Thunder take loss, get win in District 2 matchups

M-P-B might find the going rough in their search for wins this year on the girls' basketball scene, but at least they have one more player who is a welcome addition to that quest.

Senior guard Allison Thomas has made a swift return to the Thunder lineup following a scary-looking knee injury at the end of the volleyball season, and has contributed with games of eight and 10 points in M-P-B's most recent action.

The Thunder fell to LaMoure/Litchville-Marion, 48-29, in LaMoure on January 4, but got their first District 2 win of the season last Tuesday in a 64-39 win over South Border.

Against L-L-M, Brynn Sorenson had 11 points, while Thomas' eight was bolstered by Maddie Gefroh's seven-point outing.

LaMoure/L-M got 16 points courtesy of Tessa Rasmusson, while Norah DelaBarre had 10 in the Loboes' win.

Four players hit double figures for the Thunder in the win over the Mustangs. Kalen Kinzell hit for 15 points, 10 in the third quarter, and Sorenson went for 12. Abby Ryun scored 11 points off the bench for M-P-B.

South Border's Macy Monson scored 19 points to lead the Mustang efforts in that department.
