The Co-op Placement Program at Carrington High School provides opportunities for many students to gain experience and provide businesses with assistance during the school year. The Chamber & EDC organization would like to share information about each student and what they are learning while in the Co-op Program this year.
Central Pharmacy employs Tiara Lura with the Co-op Placement Program. Tiara shares that she does a variety of tasks such as affixing stickers to products, stocking shelves, dusting and assisting customers. Tiara says "My least favorite thing is down time. My favorite thing is putting stickers on products." She is learning skills such as communication.
Karlee Lesmann is working at Darline's Kiddy Corner for the Co-op program. Her main duties are taking care of kids that are not napping, helping to set up snacks, etc. Karlee says, "My favorite thing about the day care is playing with the kids." Child development, leadership, and communicating with children are the skills she is learning at Darline's Kiddy Corner. When asked about her least favorite part of the job, she relates that it's dealing with whiny or cranky kids.
Kylie Skadberg is employed at Barton Meats where her duties include: cleaning, assisting customers, stuffing burger and packaging sausage. She is learning skills related to a good work ethic, time management and communication. Cleaning bathrooms is her least favorite chore. Kylie states, "My favorite thing is helping customers!"
