Griggs/Midkota got out to an eight-point lead after one quarter, and mostly maintained that margin in a 47-38 nondistrict victory over the Kidder County Wolves in boys basketball from last Monday night, January 15.
James Woodstead's 14 tallies played a big part in leading the Titans back to the .500 mark at 4-4 for the season. In the win, Kyle Johnson and Will Spickler each accounted for seven-point showings.
For the Wolves (1-8 following the loss), Collin Zimmerman had an impressive showing with 16 points. Before fouling out, Bryce Larson scored seven to keep Kidder County within distance.
G-M began their District 4 schedule last Thursday at Warwick, and took on Langdon/Edmore/Munich in another road showdown on Saturday.
The Titans come back to district play today (January 22) versus Hatton-Northwood at Hatton. On Thursday, G-M hosts the BCN Bison in non-league action, and plays Nelson County within the district on Friday. Both of the latter games are scheduled to be played in Cooperstown.
