Virginia Helen Muscha, age 86, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2024, at Wildflower Lodge Memory Care in Maple Grove, Minnesota.

Virginia was born in Harvey, North Dakota, on May 18, 1937, to Joseph and Margaret (Holzer) Muscha. Virginia was the eighth of 13 children, and she grew up on a farm in rural Harvey.

She attended Wells County Schools through the eighth grade, after which time she stayed home and worked on the family farm and as a waitress in Harvey.

Virginia married Floyd Helm in October of 1956 and they lived on a farm in rural Denhoff, N.D. They started a family soon after and had five boys together before divorcing in April of 1965.

After her divorce, Virginia relocated with her five boys to Carrington, North Dakota and she worked as a waitress at the Ace Café & the Fireside Inn Supper Club.

In September of 1967, Virginia married Dale Schindler in Carrington and together they added one son to the family. Virginia passed her GED in 1972 and then she attended Lake Region Junior College, where she received a One Year Clerical Science Degree in May of 1973.

On June 1, 1973, Virginia started a new career working for Montana Dakota Utilities in Carrington as a cashier/receptionist. She worked for MDU until March of 1995, when a company reorganization led her to retire.

After being retired for a short time, she went to work part time for the local Super Value grocery store unloading grocery shipments and stocking shelves, until medical concerns forced her to fully retire.

Dale and Virginia sold their home in Carrington after they both completely retired and relocated to Jamestown, N.D., where they were divorced in June of 2012.

In December of 2014, Virginia moved to Minneapolis, Minn., to be close to one of her sons due to ongoing medical concerns.

Throughout her life, Virginia was an avid reader of mystery books. She enjoyed long walks, embroidery, playing Yahtzee, solving word puzzles, playing cards and visiting with family and friends.

Virginia is survived by her children, Terry (Sharon) Schindler of Lincoln, Nebraska, Blake (Yun) Schindler of Santa Clara, California, Jeffery Schindler of Havre De Grace, Maryland, Rodney (Brenda) Schindler of Sun City, Arizona, Kory (Sylvia) Schindler of Champlin, Minnesota, and Donald (Lonna) Schindler of New Braunfels, Texas; as well as 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
