CHS Co-op Placement students: March 4, 2024

This is the final installment in the highlights of CHS Co-op Students.

Maverick Zink is working at the Carrington Research Extension Center Livestock Unit where he helps bed cows, sweeps the mill, weighs cattle, mows lawn and bottle feeds calves.

Maverick relates that he is learning skills such as, "How to weigh cattle. How to drive the dump truck and tractors."

His least favorite thing to do at CREC is, "Picking up grain after Tim spills it and also pitching manure." Mowing lawn is his favorite activity.

Emma Aberle also works at the Carrington Research Extension Center. Emma works in the lab portion of the center where she takes plant notes and does various tasks involving plants.

She is learning skills such as: how to manage planting materials and lead groups of people.

Emma says, "My favorite thing I do here is take root rot notes.

My least favorite is setting up the irrigation systems."
