Alexander Roth
Alexander M. Roth, age 75, of Carrington, N.D., formerly of Great Bend, Kan., died on Sunday, March 31, 2024, with his loving wife by his side at Golden Acres Manor, Carrington, N.D.
A graveside service will be held at the North James River Lutheran Cemetery, rural Grace City, N.D.
Alexander Michael Roth was born on July 29, 1948, in Cadimon, Alberta, Canada, to George and Stella (Pody) Roth. He attended a Catholic school in Edmonton until the eighth grade and then started working various jobs throughout British Columbia and Alberta.
Alexander then moved to the United States, where he started farming for Eddie Fritzler's farm, which was located in Kansas. He also did Custom Combining in Russell, Kansas.
On April 19, 1974, he was united in marriage to Charlotte Swords. They were blessed with three beautiful daughters.
In 1979, the family moved to St. John, Kansas, where Alexander was a Production Superintendent for F&M Oil Company, based out of Wichita, Kan.
In 1995, they moved to Great Bend, Kan., where he went to work for Great Bend Co-op Association and remained working there until his retirement.
Alexander enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a very social person, who could strike up a conversation with anyone. He was a KU Basketball fan and a Kansas City Chiefs fan.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Roth, Carrington, N.D.; two daughters, Sara (Duane) Rice, and their son, Homer, all of Baldwin, Kan., and Lisa (Eric) McCracken and their children, Wyatt (Skylar) and Tyler all of Grace City, N.D.; a brother, Gerry Roth, Westlock, Alberta, Canada; a sister, Georgina (Neal) Hanna, Slave Lake, Alberta, Canada, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Alexander was preceded in death by his parents and infant daughter, Jessica Marie Roth.
