Madison Johnson, a CHS senior and daughter of David and Nichole Johnson of Carrington, was selected to the Class A/B Lions All-Star Girls Basketball squad.
The 5'7" senior guard helped lead the Cardinals to a 17-8 season this past season, their first in the new Division A.
Johnson led the team at 11.2 points per game, and also finished as the Cards' best rebounder at 6.0 per game, along with 2.8 steals. She was second on the squad in assists, averaging 2.8.
She was the first player in CHS girls' history to record 100 successful free throws in one season, shooting 74 percent at the line. From behind the arc, she buried 35 three-pointers, converting at a 28% clip.
Johnson will be playing in the Class AA vs. A/B annual all-star classic, a two-day affair which begins on Monday, July 15 at Bismarck High School and concludes the next night, July 16, at Fargo South.
Additional members of the A/B girls' team include Rylee Satrom and Raegen Zerface of Division B state champion May-Port-CG, Sydney Schwabe of Thompson, Dedra Wood of Shiloh Christian, Jessica Mogen of Watford City, Kylie Simpson of Bottineau, Cora Badding of Langdon/Edmore/Munich, Jaci Fischer of Bowman County, and Tesa Olson of Valley City.
Area members of the team in Division B Region 1 include Mataeya Mathern of state runner-up Edgeley-Kulm-Montpelier, along with Teagan Erbele of Napoleon/Gackle-Streeter.
Alternates to the team are Peyton Gette of Kindred, Brenna Martin of Thompson, Kaydee Boyce of Nedrose, and Mya Neshem of Berthold.
Coaches for the team are Keenan Konschak of May-Port-CG and Justin Klein of Devils Lake.
