Visitation was held from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at Nelson Funeral Home in Fessenden. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at the Hurdsfield Community Center with Pastor George Schuessler officiating. Burial was at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Hurdsfield.
Elizabeth was born to Alvina and John H. Rath Jr., on March 10, 1925, at Tuttle, N.D. She was the second oldest to a family of nine.
She married Arthur Dockter on December 19, 1940. They lived in the Goodrich area until moving to their farm in 1942, where they worked side by side. They were married 59 years and had five children. Art passed away August 1, 1999, and Liz remained on the farm until October 6, 2021, when she moved to Golden Acres. Here she gained "another family" with the residents and workers. She was part of an "elite group" that played cards; Yahtzee, etc., headed by dear friend Viney Inglish.
Liz's family would like to say a big thank you to the Manor for the love and care that was given to her, and to Viney for being with Liz when Bev couldn't be there.
Elizabeth is survived by her children, Betty (Art) Heidrick of Missoula, Mont., Shirley (Robert) Gartner of Medford, Ore., Rodney (Claudia) Dockter of Bismarck, N,D., and Beverly (Nathan) Hart of Chaseley, N.D.; sisters, Anna Charbonneau of Clarkston, Wash., Dorene Morlock of Bismarck, N.D., and Sally Seibel of Driscoll, N.D.; 11 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
