Returning Class B 400-meter state champion, Logan Weninger, has watched much of the spring track season from the shelf.
Nursing a nagging hamstring injury, the senior returned to the track for one final regular season meet when he and his Carrington teammates competed at the Devils Lake Rotary meet last Monday, May 13.
Weninger ran just one race, the 300-meter hurdles, and ran a state qualifying time of 41.59 to take first in the event.
Junior Ryder Bickett added a second individual event to his state meet itinerary, posting a 52.19 time in the 400-meter dash at the Rotary.
In Devils Lake, girls throwers Kelsi Neuman (shot put) and Olivia Threadgold (discus) achieved personal-bests in event victories, throwing 33' 10 1/2" and 107'11" in the two events. Jazmyn Ybarra went 8'6" to take the pole vault, and other champions included Marah Johnson (800) and Mya Neis (long jump).
