Memorial Day services around the area

Memorial Day services have been set for many cities in the area on Monday, May 27.

Carrington

The community Memorial Day program will be at 11 a.m. at the Carrington Cemetery on May 27. Speaker will be David Hammond. In case of inclement weather, it will take place at Trinity Lutheran Church.

Lunch will be held afterwards at Trinity Lutheran Church and is provided by American Legion and VFW auxiliaries.

Grace City

Grace City will hold their Memorial Day Service on May 27 at 10:30 a.m. at the Grace City Cemetery. A program with speaker Andrew Tanata and potluck meal will follow at the Schoolhouse Cafe at 11:00 a.m.

Woodworth-Pettibone

Rice Deede Post 205 of Woodworth will hold its Memorial Day services on May 27 at 9 a.m. at Pettibone Cemetery with donuts and coffee to follow at Pettibone Community Hall.

Services at Gem Cemetery, Woodworth, will be at 10:30 a.m. Joe Hall is guest speaker. A potluck dinner will follow at the Woodworth Fire Hall.

Kensal

Memorial Day services will be held in Kensal on May 27 at the Kensal Public School. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m.

John Florhaug Post 103 of the American Legion and Sons of the American Legion Squadron 103 will salute the dead immediately following the service at both the City cemetery and the Catholic cemetery.

Dinner will be served at St. John's Catholic Church by the Kensal Cemetery Association immediately following the service.

Pingree

Pingree will hold their Memorial Day program on May 27 at 10:30 a.m. at the Community Building in Pingree. The speaker is Colonel Jared Krapp.

Sykeston

Bourke - Hollingsworth Post 17 of Sykeston is holding their Memorial Day service on May 27 at the Sykeston Fire Hall at 10:30 a.m. A lunch, free- will offering, will be served immediately following the speaker and music selections.
