Boys finish in fourth place; earn several new state entrants -
Carrington seventh grader Mya Neis, shown here giving teammate Isabel Wendel a post-race hug, is in a state of disbelief and anticipation upon finishing her race in the 100-meter hurdles. When the results were announced, Neis qualified for state by taking third in a 17.50 second time. Wendel also qualified, finishing second to Shiloh Christian's Dedra Wood.
The second-to-last chapter in what Carrington hopes will be a storybook finish to their track season for 2024 was written at the Starion Sports Complex in Mandan on May 17.
The Cardinal girls had a back-and-forth race for the team crown with Shiloh Christian, and ultimately came home with the South Central Region championship with a 190-point performance to the Skyhawks' 161.
