Three individual middle to long-distance runners, along with one boys' relay, were the new qualifiers for the Griggs/Midkota Titans at the North East Regional Track meet in Hillsboro on May 17.
The G-M girls received third-place runs by seventh grader Kadence Spickler in the 800-meter run (2:32.64) and another bronze placement by Tianna McCardle for the 1,600 (5:47.95).
Meanwhile, the Titan boys had two regional champions in 3,200-meter run winner Luka Berg, first in 11:06.76, and shot putter Levi Kautzman (52'3"). Kautzman had already qualified by distance for the shot earlier this season.
The 4x800 team with Berg, Isaac Johnson, Davis Bengson and Jack Coombs will also represent the Titans at the Community Bowl, taking second with an 8:51.84 time. They join their female counterparts in the event, McCardle, Ellie Hoffman, Spickler and Eryn Turner, who qualified for the state meet earlier in the season.
