Grady Shipman of Carrington was honored as Region 3's Senior Athlete of the Year by Kidder County Athletic Director Ryan Larson.
Alex Weisenburger of the SNR Black Sox was named this year's recipient of the Eric Hewitt Iron Fist Award, given in honor and memory of Eric Hewitt. Hewitt was a longtime coach and contributor to Carrington athletics who passed away from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), in the past known as Lou Gehrig's disease. Pictured alongside Weisenburger and presenting the award to him is Eric's daughter, Calleigh Hewitt.
At the conclusion of the Region 3 Baseball Tournament held May 20-22 in Steele, select players from the five league programs were recognized as All-Region athletes.
