Midkota's Wessels makes top 30 at NASP championship

Jesse Wessels of Kensal, competing for the Midkota archery program, finished in 29th place out of 366 total shooters in his age group for the 3-D category at the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) National Championship Tournament in Daytona Beach, Fla., June 6-8.

Wessels shot a score of 282 at nationals, following his tremendous performance in late April at the NASP Western National IBO (International Bowhunting Organization) 3-D Challenge in Sandy, Utah, where he placed fifth in the middle school boys' division with a 284, and was the top seventh grade shooter.

His score was 13th best in seventh grade overall out of 113, and 93rd best out of 927 total boys competing.
