This was the view looking north down Warrington Ave (Main Streeet) in Bowdon after the parade. Quite the crowd gathered for the festivities. The former Bowdon School still stands tall at the end of the street.
The Grand Marshal of the Bowdon 125th Celebration Parade was 101-year-old Delores Suckut. She rode in a green John Deere wagon with a yellow canopy, driven by a team of horses.
Fessenden-Bowdon FFA advisor Lane Moellenkamp took his turn in the dunk tank on Saturday after lunch, raising funds for the local FFA program. The grain bin bar operated by The Duck is also shown in the background.
A makeshift jail was open throughout the weekend, and Matthew Schimelfenig was among those who spent time in the clink for charity.
Bowdon is 125 years old! Hundreds of alumni and visitors rolled into town for the festivities July 12-14, and there were over 100 entries in the parade on Saturday morning. All in attendance had the opportunity to vote for their favorite parade entry, and "People's Choice" winners were named afterwards.
The first place winner was "Through the Years" by the Suckut family (shown above), which recounted the 125-year history of Bowdon, listing many of its Main Street businesses over the years.
Second Place went to Local Ag Solutions, the Allmaras family drone spraying business, while the "Cool Kids" vehicle by the Fortneys finished third.
