Shined up and ready for show

There were an estimated 100 vehicles lining both sides of Main Street at the 4th Annual OK Tire Roundup Car Show & Shine in downtown Carrington Saturday, July 13.

Crazy 'bout a Mercury: This jewel-toned 1958 Mercury Medalist at left was among the rare classic cars on display at this year's show. The car's past is quite the story. It was purchased new by the uncle of New Rockford native Marj (Hanson) Lies, and then sold to its current owner, Corrina Olson of McVille. Among its distinct features is the gold "M" on the front grill.

The root beer floats and rhubarb slushies served by the Boeshans family were a hit with the kids.

Travis Carr and daughter Briley strolled down Main admiring the vehicles on display Saturday afternoon.
