The Carrington Redbirds Babe Ruth team won the game they needed to in order to prolong their season, winning by a score of 11-1 over Mayville #2 in the Red River Valley League's play-in game on Monday.
With that win, the Redbirds earned the number eight seed in the league tournament, and faced top-seeded Thompson #1 in the first round of play on Wednesday. The score of that game was not known at press time.
Back on Wednesday, July 10, the Redbirds played their final game of the regular season, and took a 17-4 defeat at the hands of the Nelson County Owls.
The State Class 'B' Babe Ruth Tournament begins this Friday, July 26, at City Park in Carrington. The tournament bracket will be posted to our Facebook site and to http://www.fosterconews.com when it is finalized.
