Stutsman County crash leads to DUI charge

A Carrington woman was arrested Saturday after a single vehicle crash in Stutsman County.

According to the Highway Patrol, 48-year-old Charmin Knodel-Sayler of Carrington was traveling westbound on 34th St SE approximately 2 miles northwest of Medina at around 1 p.m. on Saturday. Aug. 31. She drove the Chevrolet Impala off the road into a slough, and the vehicle came to rest in the slough on the south side of the road facing southwest.

Knodel-Sayler was treated on scene for minor injuries before being transported to the Jamestown Regional Medical Center by Jamestown Ambulance. Authorities say she assaulted emergency department workers while at JRMC.

Knodel-Sayler was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, refusal of a chemical test and simple assault-emergency department worker. She was also cited for driving without liability insurance, which carries a $150 fine. No court date has been set for Knodel-Sayler.

The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
