10th Life Walk to feature unique foods

Do you ever dream of old fashioned foods? Or simply, something homemade that you wish people still made? The Carrington area pro-life group “Life Savers” is hosting their 10th Annual Life Walk to support the Women’s Care Center (WCC). The event will take place on Saturday, September 21st starting at 10 a.m. at the Carrington City Park, Main Shelter. People can join an easy two-mile walk along Highway 281 to the roundabout or stay and browse the silent auction’s fun foods to show their support of the life affirming services available at the WCC’s North Dakota locations.

Following the walk, a light breakfast/refreshments and drinks will take place (free will donations accepted). The silent auction this year is themed, “Fun Foods.” Featured items to bid on will include loaves of sourdough bread, croissants, cheesecake, kuchen, crème brulèe, popcorn cakes, caramel rolls and more. Do you or someone you know make a unique food item and wish to donate? The local contact for the Carrington walk is Angela Boeshans (701-650-8857). The group will also be collecting new items for babies, the day of the event, including diapers (newborn size), onesies, bottles, lotion, training pants (Pull-Ups®), socks, etc.

Women’s Care Centers offer pregnancy testing and ultrasounds. All services are confidential and FREE to the client. The centers seek to empower healthy, life-affirming choices to all who walk through their doors. They also provide parenting classes, counseling and more to help ease the transition of choosing life. Come out and enjoy a crisp North Dakota morning walk and you might just go home with some delicious treats!
