The Out of the Darkness Community Walk was held Sunday, September 8, at Carrington's City Park.
Walk attendees wore colored necklaces representing different familial and friendship connections to those whom have either been lost to suicide, are or have been fighting mental health battles, and additional causes.

Team Mathew, one of 10 teams participating on Sunday, Sept. 8, was the top team fundraiser with a total of $1,950.00 to aid in suicide prevention and mental health awareness. Other notable team fundraising numbers included Sylvie's Squad ($1,250.00), Step Into Hope ($925.00), Marty's Meertys ($816.31) and Mason's Wings ($609.00).

The 3rd Annual Out of the Darkness Community Walk was held at Carrington City Park Sunday afternoon, September 8. The event is sponsored by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
A total of $16,395.31 was raised from the event, and 116 individuals and 10 teams participated in this year's walk in Carrington. Kaylin Pate was the top individual fundraiser at $1,050.00, followed by Lori Stahl, $425.00; Peggy Biel, $400.00; Kristen Beckley, $350.00; and Ashley Schulz, $296.31.
