Thunder sweep Rockets

M-P-B's Bohl gets 1,000th assist -

Violet Bohl's 1,000th career assist was the individual highlight for the Medina/Pingree-Buchanan Thunder in a three-set sweep over NR-S, 25-15, 25-13 and 25-23, Tuesday night, September 10, in the PBHS Gym.

The Rockets were playing just their second match of the season, and fell to 0-2 with the loss. Both defeats came to Region 3 teams, as they fell to Oakes in their September 5 season opener.

Ava Peterson led NR-S with 12 kills, and also was the top blocker with four. Other statistical leaders included Kaiya O'Connor (14 assists), Logan Cudworth (20 digs), and Bailey Jacobson (two aces).

The Thunder improved to 5-3 with the win, and were boosted by 15 kills and three blocks from senior Maddie Gefroh. Brynn Sorenson, a junior, had 11 kills, 18 digs and three aces, and Bohl would finish with 32 assists, 20 digs and four aces, as well as three kills.
