Titans fall in 5 to Benson Co.

Griggs/Midkota pushed unbeaten Benson County to the brink of defeat on Thursday, September 5, but couldn't quite close out the Wildcats in Binford in a five-set loss, 15-25, 25-19, 14-25, 25-15 and 11-15.

Two Titan players had double figures in kills, led by 12 from Kelsey Johnson and 10 more courtesy of Vanessa Vollmer. Alette Adrian additionally had a stout supporting effort with eight kills, and had three blocks along with Johnson.

Emma McCullough had 39 assists in the marathon match, and Vollmer struck four service aces.

The Thunder got a 3-1 win over Hatton-Northwood last Tuesday, Sept. 10. Stats were not available.

G-M (3-4) begins District 5 play Tuesday, Sept. 17 by hosting Barnes County North in Cooperstown, then goes to Fessenden Sept. 19 for a nonregion match with HWC.
