Hannelore "Lori" Selma Kolb Doeling, age 91, Carrington, N.D. met her savior Thursday, Sept. 26, 2024 at Golden Acres Manor in Carrington.

Hannalore's visitation was Sunday, Sept. 29 from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at Evans Funeral Home, Carrington, N.D. Her grave side service was held Monday, Sept. 30, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. at the Carrington Cemetery, Carrington, N.D. Pastor Tom Eckstein officiated.

Pallbearers were all of Hannelore's grandchildren.

Hannelore was born January 13, 1933 in Pirmasens, Germany to August and Maria Kolb. Hannelore attended school in Pirmasens and Kissingen, Germany. Hannelore and her mother moved often during the war as Pirmasens was frequently bombed.

Hannelore worked in a shoe factory for 10 years and in a hospital for two years to help support her family.

Hannelore met the love of her life, Gene Doeling, when he was stationed in Pirmasens in 1958. They were married April 17, 1959 in Pirmasens. They made their home on the farm, near Bordulac, N.D. where they raised four children.

Hannelore worked many years on the farm alongside her husband. Hannelore loved gardening and loved to walk. If you ever traveled the Bordulac road, you more than likely passed her or even honked at her to get her to move to the side of the road. She was loved by her family and will be forever missed.

Hannelore is preceded in death by her parents, Maria and August Kolb; two brothers, Heiner Breier and Fred Kolb; one sister-in-law, Ericka Breier; and one son-in-law, Keith Wiest.

Hannelore is survived by her devoted husband, Gene; children, Debra, Christa (Bryan) Beach, Gene (Denise) Doeling, and Elisabeth "Lisa" (Kevin) Meyer; a nephew, Karl-Heinz Breier; grandchildren, Leah (Jason) Thoms, Ethan Beach, Harrison Wiest, Lucas Doeling, Brooklyn Wiest, Alexis Doeling and Molly Richardson; great-grandchildren, Eva and Jake Thoms; and Destiny Stedman, who Hannelore considered a bonus grandchild.
