CHS junior Molly Hansen represented her school as the girls' golf program's only state tournament participant at the two-day State Class B event, held Monday-Tuesday, September 30-October 1 at Fargo Country Club.
Molly, the daughter of Jory and Missy Hansen of Carrington, carded totals of 97 and 92 to take home 28th place overall at the meet.
Fargo Oak Grove rode the wave of six All-State performances to easily capture the team championship with a 58-stroke victory at 656, led by Josie Brantner's second place finish of 83-79-162. Ellie Zuger, Lauren Holstad, Josie Geiger, Sylvie Brantner and Claire Lee also finished in the top 10 by taking the third, fourth, sixth, eighth and 10th spots.
The Grovers won their fourth Class B title, and third in a row dating back to 2022. Kindred (714) was a distant second, followed by Heart River (716), Des Lacs-Burlington (733) and Linton-HMB (755).
Laila Christianson, a sophomore from Des Lacs-Burlington, won medalist honors with a two-day total of 77-80-157 to win the tournament by five strokes.
Christianson breaks an eight-year stranglehold on the Class B individual championship that was held by either Emily St. Aubin of South Border (the 2016 to 2019 winner) or Avery Bartels of Kindred (2021 spring and fall, 2022 and 2023). The 2020 season was cancelled due to COVID-19.
Other players to achieve All-State recognition were Bailey Theuninck of Kindred (fifth), Ellee Rybchinski of Bottineau (seventh), Kaylin Goldsmith of Kindred (ninth) and Jaci Reisenauer of Heart River (tied for 10th).
