Carrington strapped themselves in for two days of volleyball at the Des Lacs-Burlington Laker Invitational Friday and Saturday, October 4-5.
The tournament, which traditionally brings the historically-best programs in Class B year after year, was a good test for the Cards to learn a bit about themselves opposite other squads.
The Cards would play host DL-B and take a loss on overall points, 45-48 (20-25, 25-23) in the first match of pool play. They followed that up with a two-set win over NR-S (25-21, 25-19), lost to tourney champion Central Cass (17-25, 22-25) in straight sets, and got a win on points over Hillsboro/Central Valley, 49-47 (25-21, 24-26).
With their pool performance, the Cards were placed in the Silver Bracket for tournament play, and dropped a decision to Our Redeemer’s of Minot, 20-25 and 19-25, to finish the event.
