Griggs/Midkota's attempt to break into the upper division of District 5 teams didn't quite work out for the Titans.
G/M took a three-set loss to the LaMoure/Litchville-Marion Loboes (20-25, 24-26, 19-25) on Thursday, October 3 in LaMoure, and gave one of their better efforts this season in taking the Oakes Tornadoes to five sets in Glenfield before ultimately bowing to defeat, 25-16, 21-25, 21-25, 25-22 and 11-15, this past Tuesday night.
The two defeats defused some momentum the Titans built up from wins over Nelson County and South Border in the matches previous to the L/L-M game.
With the losses, Griggs/Midkota's overall record now sits at 9-13 for the season, and 1-3 in District 5.
In action from late last week, the Titans hosted Park River/Fordville-Lankin on Thursday, October 10, at GCCHS in Cooperstown.
Griggs/Midkota concludes their District 5 schedule Tuesday night, October 15, when they travel to Ellendale to take on the Cardinals. The winner will most likely be the fifth seed in the upcoming district tournament in Ellendale, with the loser sixth.
