In her pursuit of a second straight East Region individual title, Carrington's Kenadie Pazdernik couldn't match the blistering pace of two Hillsboro/Central Valley seventh graders Saturday, Oct. 12 in Cooperstown.
Pazdernik still placed third for another All-Region honor behind HCV's Claire Grinde and Caroline Anderson, and was joined by teammates Macy Fiebiger (18th) and Kahri Kollman (20th) to help the Cardinal girls take a top five finish with 160 points.
Griggs/Midkota eighth grader Kadence Spickler also made the All-Region girls' group with a 14th place run for the Titans.
HCV dominated with a whopping six All-Region runs for a 22-point win on the girls' side. Rugby (71) was second and Bottineau (95) third.
On the boys' side, the top local run came from G/M's Reid Ressler, who finished one place out of All-Region designation in 21st.
Owen Johnson of Northern Cass was the boys' champion, and the Kindred Vikings took the East Region with 47 points.
