Thunder blank BCN, Clippers

Medina/Pingree-Buchanan kept flying along with quick sweeps over Barnes County North (25-9, 25-10, 25-11) and Strasburg/Zeeland (25-8, 25-8, 25-12). on Oct. 10 and 15.

The latter win over the Clippers finished up M/P-B's District 6 season at 4-1, and the 24-5 Thunder will enter district play in Hazelton Nov. 1, 4 and 5 as the number two seed.

The victory over the Bison featured double 12-kill outings by Maddie Gefroh and Brynn Sorenson. Violet Bohl had 24 assists, while Cierra Mack finished with 12 digs.

Against S/Z, Gefroh led the way with 13 kills, and Sorenson finished with 10. Destiny Opp also had four in the winning cause.

Bohl added 25 more assists to her growing total, and also paced the Thunder servers with four aces. Sorenson struck for three as well, and Mack and Samantha Reister had a pair of unreturned serves.

Mack had 12 digs against the Clippers, and Sorenson also hit double figures with 10 of her own.
