There's a crisp freezing wind in the air, meaning it's almost time for holiday happenings around the Central City.
Tonight (Monday, Dec. 2), Carrington's Yuletide showcase, "Christmas Around the Town," will be held with numerous activities planned throughout the city's business district.
The day will start with a Holiday Open House at Bremer Bank from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m., with refreshments and carolers from Caring-Ton Preschool, Kate's Daycare and Milestone Learning Center providing musical numbers.
Another Open House will be held at Carrington Dental Care from 4:30-6:30 p.m., where you can meet the CDC team and enter to win a holiday gift basket.
Also during "Christmas Around the Town," a bake sale to benefit Shanna Barone will be held at 4:30 p.m. until gone at Carrington Youth Center, in conjunction with a Soup Supper at CYC as well.
The Market: Holiday Edition will be held at the Chieftain from 5-8 p.m., and the restaurant will also be serving a taco bar. Drinks, cookie decorating, holiday gifts and treats will also be available.
The feature event of "Christmas Around the Town" is the Light Parade, beginning at 5:30 p.m. on west Main Street and moving east through downtown. Entries are wanted up to parade time, so call Laurie Dietz, 652-2524, to register.
There will be a Live Nativity from 4:30-5:30 p.m. before the parade on the north side of Main Street downtown, provided by the Pleasant Valley 4-H Club.
