The Carrington Gymnastics Club, under the direction of Tammy Sorensen, opened their season at the Flipping in the Fall Invitational Sunday, Nov. 17, in Fargo. The meet was hosted by American Gold Gymnastics.
Six girls competed for the very first time in the bronze division, and Carrington just missed earning a podium slot by placing fourth. They also took fourth in the silver division, with Daphne Dreher and Jayd Lura winning their age divisions for balance beam.
Podium placers in the silver division were: Brynlee Hoff, sixth in beam; Dreher, third in vault, first in beam, second in floor exercise and all-around; Emery Mischke, fifth in vault and beam, eighth in floor; Jayd Lura, seventh in vault, first in beam, third in floor and fifth in all-around; Madison Kraling, eighth in vault, fourth in beam, eighth in floor and sixth in all-around; and Marrah VanRay, fourth in vault, eighth in beam, ninth in floor and sixth in all-around.
Gold division participants were Paisley Lura, third in vault, fifth in uneven bars and eighth in all-around; and Anna Monson, seventh in beam.
Members of the 9.0 club included Arabelle Johnson, beam; Dreher, vault, beam and floor; Mischke, vault; Jaelynn Timm, bars; Jayd Lura, beam, floor; Lily Wiedmeier, floor; VanRay, vault; and Parker Mattson, floor.
The next meet for the Carrington Gymnastics Club will be held Dec. 14-15 in Bismarck.
