Medina/Pingree-Buchanan experienced tough sledding in their first outing of the girls basketball season Tuesday night, Dec. 3, with a 72-30 loss to the Maple River (Maple Valley/Hope-Page) Raiders in Medina.
Violet Richman led four different Raider players in double figures with 18 points, trailed closely by BriElle Killoran's 17. Adyson Hannig and Claire Ihry also had good efforts with 14 and 11 points for Maple Valley.
For M/P-B, Brynn Sorenson was the top scorer with 10 points, and Savannah Reister had seven.
Next up for the Thunder will be a Tuesday, Dec. 10 non-district game in Warwick around 7 p.m., and M/P-B will participate in the two-day University of Jamestown Shootout against Washburn at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13, and play Northern Cass Saturday, Dec. 14 at 2:30 p.m.
